Baby Sitter

The Baby sitter's Training course was designed to provided individuals, ages 11-15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership, including practicing problem-solving; professionalism, including creating a résumé, learning interviewing and documentation skills, and identifying appropriate work behaviors; basic care, including hygiene, holding, carrying, diapering, feeding, and dressing; safety and safe play, including safe, age-appropriate activities and toys; and first aid, including emergency action steps, checking conscious and unconscious infants and children, choking, breathing emergencies, and care for bleeding and wounds.

Participants receive a certificate upon successful course completion. The course is held in two sessions of three hours each and includes discussion, video, activities, and hands-on practice with dolls and manikins.
